I’ve been working on a custom bridge for my Sirena bass guitars. A friend of mine helped me machine the masters to make this bridge.

I don’t want a piece of hardware that draws any attention to itself. I want a bridge that serves two purposes: 1) the hold and intonate the strings, and 2) uphold the overall design esthetic of the instrument. So, I just took a proven design and made it fit to the look of this instrument. I really got to thank Bruce Johnson for helping me make this happen.

Part of the magic of this bridge is the BruceBlock. The BruceBlock is a 1/2″ thick block of aluminum or brass embedded inside the body of the instrument. The block is threaded with screw holes, and the bridge is attached with 10-32 machine screws. The BruceBlock allows not only for insane amount of clamping power, but it also creates a super-stable mounting surface.
In case anyone noticed, the answer is yes, it is supposed to look like a seashell. We live 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean, and even though I almost never go to the beach, I want to bring an oceanic vibe to my instruments.
These bridges comes stock on my Sirena Pistolera and Uno basses.
