Small Bass with a Big Bottom

The Sirena Cometa is a true hollowbody. In other words there is no center block running down the center of the Cometa body, unlike a semi-hollowbody. This gives the bass a warm mid-range, and a short, aggressive attack curve. Carefully designed and constructed re-enforcements integrated into the top and back strengthen and add rigidity the body.

Like all Sirena instruments, the Cometa sports some grooy hand-made custom hardware. Keeping within that old-school vibe, the Cometa has a beautiful tailpiece and floating bridge that is fully adjustable and allows for perfect intonation. The adjustable brass saddles have set screws to lock them into place.

The Cometa comes loaded stock with a Funktronic AlNiCo 5 humbucker. There are other options available, including, but not limited to a single coil design and an AlNiCo 8 Bass Sidewinder. The AlNiCo 5 HB is housed in a heavily shielded, resin-cast body designed for a lifetime of flawless operation. Pickup terminals are joined with solderless wire connectors.

Three heavy duty stainless steel neck bolts join the neck to the body. Brass anchors embedded within the neck ensure firm contact and an exceptionally strong neck to body joint.

Black walnut is a classic American hardwood that brings an elegant touch to the Sirena Cometa. Like all Sirena necks, the Cometa has a laminated 3-piece neck that is hand-carved and plays like a dream.
