These flanges were made with .030″ Garolite. Garolite is strong but is hard to cut and seems to chip easily. I’m going to use FR4 instead.

A polyurethane keeper I pulled from the mold. I still need to cut the flashing and sand the edge flat. Those little neodymium magnets are very strong and unruly. I designed this little cast keeper bar to keep them in place. #funktronicpickups #winding #handwoundpickups #basspickups #madscientist #neodymiummagnets #guitarpickups

This is an aluminum piece I use as an original from which to cast a little keeper bar from polyurethane resin. The keeper bar holds eight neodymium magnets and makes the core of a bass pickup I’ve been working on. BTW, I carved this little guy by hand using a hacksaw, drill press and a flat bastard mill file. #madscientist #guitarpickups #basspickups #handwoundpickups #winding #funktronicpickups

Here’s my sidewinder bass pickup coils. I have it loaded with a pair of ceramic magnets and wound to about 4.27K of 41AWG wire. Sounds really fat. #basspickups #guitarpickups #winding #madscientist #handwoundpickups #handwoundcoils #funktronicpickups
